CSU GPA Formula

CSU GPA = Σ(Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours

SAT Eligibility Index = GPA × 800 + SAT Score (need 2950+ for CA residents)
ACT Eligibility Index = GPA × 200 + ACT Composite (need 694+ for CA residents)

Students with a GPA of 3.0 or above are automatically eligible — no test scores required. Students with GPAs from 2.0 to 2.99 must meet the eligibility index using SAT or ACT scores. Non-residents typically need a minimum GPA of 2.0 with an index of 3502 (SAT) or 842 (ACT).
