SGPA Calculator
Calculate your Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) on the 10-point scale used by VTU, Anna University, Mumbai University, and other Indian universities. Convert multiple SGPAs to your cumulative CGPA.
How to Use This SGPA Calculator
Enter each subject from your current semester with its grade points (on a 0–10 scale) and the credit load assigned to that subject. The calculator instantly computes your SGPA — the Semester Grade Point Average — using the weighted average formula.
Use the Calculate SGPA tab to find your current semester GPA. Switch to the SGPA to CGPA tab to enter your individual semester SGPAs and credits to see your overall Cumulative GPA. The Advanced tier below adds university-specific grading scales and multi-semester tracking. The Professional tier provides full transcript analytics with placement benchmarks.

SGPA Formula
Example: Maths (9 GP × 4 cr) + Physics (7 GP × 4 cr) + Chemistry (8 GP × 3 cr)
= (36 + 28 + 24) ÷ (4 + 4 + 3) = 88 ÷ 11 = 8.00 SGPA
Each subject's grade points are multiplied by its credit weight. Higher-credit subjects carry more influence on your SGPA. This is why performing well in 4-credit core courses matters more than in 1-credit lab courses.
SGPA to CGPA Formula
Example: Sem 1 (8.5 SGPA × 22 cr) + Sem 2 (7.8 SGPA × 24 cr)
= (187 + 187.2) ÷ 46 = 374.2 ÷ 46 = 8.13 CGPA
If all your semesters have the same number of credits, a simple average of SGPAs equals your CGPA. If credit loads differ, use the weighted formula above for the correct result.
VTU Grade Scale (10-Point System)
O = 10 | A+ = 9 | A = 8 | B+ = 7 | B = 6 | C = 5 | P = 4 | F = 0
Anna University, Mumbai University, JNTU, and AKTU use similar 10-point scales with minor variations. Verify your university's specific grade-to-point mapping on their official website.
